RRSP Contribution deadline: February 29, 2024

General tax filling deadline: April 30, 2024

Self-employed tax payment: April 30, 2024

Self-employed personal tax and HST filling: June 17, 2024

Toronto Vacant Tax filling: February 29, 2024

Federal underused housing tax: April 30, 2024

Non-Resident tax:  June 30, 2024

 

Personal and family member information in tax filling

 

1. Personal information including SIN number, Name, Birth Dates, Home address, contact numbers and their dependents (Name, Birth Date)

2. New immigrants need to provide the date of arrival and overseas income before arrival

3. Changes in marital status within the year

4. Provide last year’s notice of assessment

5. RRSP contribution slips, with minimum yearly repayment amount for home buyer’s plan and lifelong learning plan

6. First Home Saving Account (FHSA) contribution ($8,000 in 2023)

7. Interest on loans for investment purposes

8. Moving expenses for work, business or school

9. TL2 Form for truck drivers declaring meal and accommodation expenses

10. Childcare expense receipts

11. Professional association or dues payment

12. Student loan interest

13. Rental receipts

14. Income tax slips, including Payroll (T4); Self-employed (T4A);  interest or dividend income (T3/T5); Old age security income (T4OAS); Partnership income (T5013); stock trading slips (T5008), etc.

Rental properties and real estate transactions

1. For rental properties, provide address, annual rent, property tax, mortgage interest, insurance, management fees, advertising fees, maintenance fees, utilities and any equipment purchased/ renovation made during the tax year

2. Changing use of the properties, deemed disposition filling

3. Selling investment property, provide purchase date, home address, lawyer fees, real estate agent fees, staging fees, repayment penalties, renovation expenses, etc.

4. Dispose primary residence, provide address, purchase year, and purchase price and selling price.
